NEW GAS POWERED ICEBREAKER

Deltamarin Ltd. received a contract from Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Inc. for the machinery and technical spaces outfitting production design of the first LNG-powered icebreaker vessel. The vessel, to be built for the Finnish Transport Agency, aims to reduce emissions and fuel costs by using both diesel and LNG as fuel, and is planned for operations in the Baltic Sea. ARCTIC UNI GOES FOR KONGSBERG

UiT, The Artic University of Norway, has selected Kongsberg Maritime to provide cutting-edge upgrades and extensions of existing ship’s bridge simulators for navigation and DP training including human factor studies. UiT’s strong focus on maritime and offshore training, human factor studies and research and development projects strengthens knowledge and competence in advanced operations in the polar environment.
