DNV GL has provided a handy guide to offshore drilling and operations. According to their guidance, typically offshore operations fall into one of three categories, Shallow water operations, where water-depth is smaller than 1,000ft, deep-water where water-depth is deeper than 1,000ft but under 5,000ft and, finally, ultra-deep water is anything over 5,000ft. FURTHER ENHANCING THE WALK TO WORK

Chevalier Floatels says the walk-to-work vessels DP Gezina and DP Galyna are being upgraded in order to further enhance their performance. The chief executive of Chevalier Floatels, Marcel Roelofs, said the company used client feedback and its own experience over the past couple of years to determine how to enhance the walk-to-work units, which have found employment in the offshore oil and gas and offshore wind sectors in the past.
